The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, has hosted a delegation from Genius Creative at the agency’s headquarters to discuss advancing artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in Africa’s creative industry.
During the strategic meeting, both parties explored potential areas of collaboration aimed at leveraging NITDA’s technical expertise and innovation–driven programmes to accelerate AI use in content creation across the continent.
Inuwa expressed the agency’s readiness to support Genius Creative in its mission to empower African creators, noting that NITDA’s established network of innovation hubs across Nigeria would play a key role in driving the initiative. He emphasized that digitalizing reality through AI represents the next phase for creative industries, adding that NITDA is committed to equipping creators with the tools and resources needed to thrive in a fast–evolving digital landscape.
He stated that the agency’s continued support for emerging technologies aligns with its mandate to foster innovation, boost digital skills, and position Nigeria as a global player in AI and digital content development.
The meeting marks a significant step toward strengthening collaboration between government and private sector innovators in shaping the future of media and creativity in Africa.
