Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development across Rivers State, assuring the people of Akabuka community in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) that their long-standing infrastructure needs will be addressed without delay.
Speaking at a civic reception held in honour of his Deputy, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, the Governor announced that work will begin immediately on internal road networks and the rehabilitation of the Government Secondary School, Akabuka — key projects aimed at improving accessibility and educational standards in the area.
“I listened to the concerns of the people of Akabuka and assured them that development will not pass them by,” Governor Fubara stated. “Work on internal roads and the rehabilitation of Government Secondary School, Akabuka will commence immediately.”
The Governor, who was accompanied by his Deputy and other government officials, emphasized that his administration’s focus remains people-centered governance, ensuring that communities in every part of the state enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He used the occasion to make a heartfelt appeal for peace and unity, describing them as the foundation of progress and sustainable development.
“My only request is simple: let us continue to choose peace. Where there is peace, progress follows,” Fubara urged.
The event, organized by the Akabuka community to celebrate their illustrious daughter and Deputy Governor, was attended by community leaders, youth groups, and women organizations who expressed gratitude for the administration’s attention to their needs.
Governor Fubara commended the people of Akabuka for their steadfast support and pledged to continue walking the path of development with them.
“Thank you, Akabuka, for standing with your daughter. We will walk this journey together in unity, respect and shared purpose for a better Rivers State,” he affirmed.
The Governor’s remarks reflect his administration’s ongoing efforts to bridge development gaps across local communities, reinforcing his broader vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive Rivers State.
