Former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has emphasized the need for leadership, innovation, and global competitiveness as key drivers of Nigeria’s economic transformation.
Osinbajo stated this during an interactive session with members of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and other business leaders, where discussions focused on the theme “Reimagining Nigeria’s Economic Future: Leadership, Innovation and Global Competitiveness.”
The engagement explored strategies for unlocking sustainable growth, removing structural barriers, and accelerating investment in education and skills development.
Highlighting the need for policy consistency and effective implementation, Prof. Osinbajo noted that “innovation thrives where regulation is predictable, infrastructure reliable, and talent continuously developed.”
He further underscored the importance of aligning educational outcomes with industry needs to ensure a steady pipeline of skilled professionals capable of driving national competitiveness.
Prof. Osinbajo expressed appreciation to Dr. Chinyere Almona, FCA, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the LCCI, for the invitation to participate in the dialogue and for fostering continued collaboration between the public and private sectors.
