Harare, Zimbabwe — AfrexInsure has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Africa’s reinsurance sector through strategic partnerships and regulatory collaboration, during its participation at the 29th African Insurance Organisation (AIO) Reinsurance Forum held in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Themed “Growth for the Future: The Reinsurance Catalyst,” the forum brought together industry leaders to explore innovative approaches for deepening the continent’s reinsurance capacity and promoting sustainable economic growth.
AfrexInsure’s participation aligns with its mission to de-risk trade and trade-related investments across Africa, positioning reinsurance as a central pillar in advancing continental integration and resilience.
During the event, AfrexInsure engaged with leading Pan-African reinsurance partners including ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company), WAICA Reinsurance Corporation PLC, Continental Reinsurance, and African Reinsurance Corporation, as well as with regulatory bodies, to develop collaborative frameworks that can strengthen Africa’s reinsurance ecosystem.
A key highlight of these discussions was the emphasis on regulatory harmonization—a crucial step toward expanding underwriting capacity, improving operational efficiency, and building a more unified Pan-African insurance and reinsurance market.
AfrexInsure noted that such coordinated efforts are essential for supporting intra-African trade and achieving the broader vision of a prosperous, integrated Africa driven by shared financial stability and risk management innovation.
