NITDA Showcases Digital Transformation Drive at MOONSHOT Conference 2025

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) made a strong impression at the MOONSHOT Conference 2025, a leading continental forum bringing together innovators, policymakers, and technology leaders committed to accelerating Africa’s digital transformation.

Representing the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the National Coordinator of the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR), Dr. Olubunmi Ajala, delivered a keynote address that underscored the Agency’s initiatives toward achieving the Federal Government’s target of 95% digital literacy by 2027.

Dr. Ajala highlighted a range of strategic programmes designed to empower Nigerians with essential digital skills. These include the expansion of digital literacy training across communities, the integration of emerging technologies in education and governance, and the localisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to reflect Nigeria’s linguistic and cultural diversity.

He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy and NITDA. According to him, the Agency continues to create an enabling ecosystem for startups by facilitating mentorship opportunities, access to funding, and connections with local and international investors.

Dr. Ajala further assured participants that under the visionary leadership of Director General Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, NITDA remains focused on implementing forward-looking policies and partnerships that will enhance digital inclusion, foster technological advancement, and position Nigeria as a major innovation hub in Africa.
