Airtel Nigeria and UNICEF Train Educators on Online Child Safety

Over 150 public school educators participated in an online child safety training organized by Airtel Nigeria in partnership with UNICEF on October 7. The initiative is part of the Airtel-UNICEF Reimagine Education Programme, aimed at promoting safe and responsible use of digital technologies among schoolchildren.

The training provided teachers with the latest tools and knowledge to help children navigate the internet safely. Sessions covered Digital Privacy and Protection, led by Airtel’s IT team, as well as Children’s Rights in the Digital Age, facilitated by UNICEF experts.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with 99% of educators reporting increased confidence and practical understanding of online child safety measures.

“As we continue to connect schools to the internet, we remain equally committed to ensuring that the digital world becomes a place of opportunity, not risk, for every child,” Airtel Nigeria said.

The program reflects growing efforts to integrate technology in education while safeguarding children from digital risks, ensuring that they can benefit fully from online learning opportunities.
