Lagos, Nigeria โ€” In a memorable celebration of African trade leadership, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Honourable Minister of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI) and Founder of the No Limits Nigeria Initiative, paid glowing tribute to Professor Benedict Oramah, GCON, during a special event hosted by Fidelity Bank Plc. The occasion recognized Prof. Oramahโ€™s transformative role in fostering intra-African trade and strengthening key economic institutions across the continent.

Dr. Oduwole described the evening as a โ€œmemorable Thursday,โ€ highlighting Prof. Oramahโ€™s tireless dedication to building bridges between African economies and positioning trade as a catalyst for continental growth.

โ€œYour relentless pursuit of Africaโ€™s trade renaissance has not only strengthened institutions but has also made you a bridge-builder in every sense,โ€ Dr. Oduwole remarked. โ€œThank you for your unwavering commitment to championing intra-African trade. Weโ€™re not just proud of you; we are genuinely grateful for your impact. On behalf of Nigeriaโ€™s trade and investment community, we salute you!โ€

Prof. Oramah, the President and Chairman of the Board of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), has long been recognized as a driving force behind Africaโ€™s trade financing and industrial development. Under his leadership, Afreximbank has played a pivotal role in promoting cross-border trade, supporting industrial growth, and providing the financial infrastructure necessary for sustainable economic development across African nations.

The event, attended by key figures in Nigeriaโ€™s trade, finance, and investment sectors, underscored the importance of celebrating leadership that bridges vision with tangible results. Guests applauded Prof. Oramahโ€™s strategic efforts in fostering collaboration, mentoring emerging leaders, and catalyzing investments that bolster Africaโ€™s economic integration.

Dr. Oduwole emphasized that Prof. Oramahโ€™s work is not only institutional but deeply personal, inspiring professionals and policymakers alike to engage in Africaโ€™s economic transformation. She described him as a model of what it means to champion regional trade, build resilient institutions, and create opportunities that extend far beyond national borders.

โ€œIt is individuals like Prof. Oramah whose vision, commitment, and leadership shape the future of Africa,โ€ Dr. Oduwole said. โ€œWe honor you today not just for what you have accomplished, but for the path you are laying for generations to come.โ€

The evening concluded on a celebratory note, reflecting a shared commitment among Nigeriaโ€™s trade and investment community to support Africaโ€™s economic renaissance and recognize the leaders who make it possible.
