The Southeast region of Nigeria is fast emerging as a hub for technological innovation and investment, according to Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA), the Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency, who participated in the just-concluded Enugu Tech Festival alongside Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
Speaking at the festival themed “From Code to Code”, Agbata described the event as timely and transformative, capturing the momentum and aspirations of Nigeria’s tech-driven future.
“The theme aptly captures the essence of our transition into the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” Agbata said. “Technology’s permanence is no longer debatable; what remains uncertain is the level of passion Nigerians will bring to its adoption.”
He emphasized that both Enugu and Anambra States are strategically positioned to lead in digital transformation across the Southeast, thanks to ongoing policy support, talent development, and a growing ecosystem of innovators.
“I can confidently attest that Enugu and Anambra State are primed to fully leverage technology’s potential,” he added.
Agbata further encouraged local and international investors to take a closer look at the Southeast region, citing its untapped market, rising tech-savvy youth population, and progressive government initiatives.
“The Southeast region is experiencing unprecedented growth, and those who haven’t invested yet are missing out. This is the perfect time to tap into the region’s vast opportunities,” he noted.
He also commended Prince Lawrence Ezeh, Enugu State’s Commissioner for Science and Technology, as well as the organizers of the festival, for curating an impactful event that brought together stakeholders, innovators, and policymakers.
The Enugu Tech Festival served as a convergence point for tech enthusiasts, startups, investors, and government officials to discuss emerging technologies, forge partnerships, and inspire a new wave of digital transformation across Nigeria’s southeastern states.
