Samsung has begun rolling out the January 2025 security update for the Galaxy A14 and Galaxy A15 smartphones, available for unlocked models on the Verizon network in the US. This latest update enhances system security and stability, ensuring a safer and smoother user experience.
According to Samsung, the update strengthens device security by addressing over 50 vulnerabilities identified by both Google and Samsung. These include 5 critical and 24 high-level security issues from Google, with two of them not affecting Samsung users. Additionally, Samsung has fixed 22 security vulnerabilities in essential apps such as Samsung Messages, Sound Picker, Notification Manager, and the Bootloader.
The One UI build versions for the update are:
- Galaxy A14: A146USQSADXL1
- Galaxy A15: A156USQS5BYA3
This update rollout is happening in phases, so it might take some time before it reaches all eligible devices.
How to Install the Update:
To ensure your device remains secure, follow these steps to install the update:
- Go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
- Connect to a reliable Wi-Fi or Verizon network.
- Ensure your phone battery is sufficiently charged before installation.
In addition to this update, both the Galaxy A14 and A15 models are eligible for the upcoming Android 15-based One UI 7 update, which Samsung has already launched with the Galaxy S25 series. The company plans to roll out the new UI to older Galaxy models soon.
