The former Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Chief Emeka Anyaoku has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for undertaking the project of the new government house and Governor’s lodge in Awka, among other infrastructure projects.
Chief Anyaoku gave the commendation shortly after he was conducted round the project and Solution Fun City, described it as an impressive development.
He said that the synchronisation of the area, bringing the three arms of government in Anambra together, required a visionary planner like Governor Soludo, commending him for braving the project and stressed that from his assessment, the buildings are made to last and will continuously serve the needs of the state.
Responding, Governor Soludo described Chief Anyaoku as Africa’s most distinguished statesman and revealed that in the next few weeks, the 33-year-old jinx of not having a befitting government house and Governor’s lodge will be broken.
While stating that his administration is focused on building to last, the Governor thanked Chief Anyaoku for stopping by and spending the time to tour the projects with him.
Earlier, Chief Anyaoku also conducted round to inspect the ongoing upgrade of Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, which is fast nearing completion.
