Dr. Okey Chidolue and his wife, Dr. Nene Chidolue, exemplify this philosophy. Though they live and work in America, they have remained deeply connected to their roots, choosing to establish the Premium Kidney Hospital in Nnewi.
This hospital is more than just a medical facility—it’s a beacon of hope. With the support of a U.S.-based foundation owned by the couple, the hospital offers heavily subsidized treatment for all types of kidney-related diseases. Its strategic location along Old Nnewi-Ichi-Ojoto-Oba road in Edoji village, Uruagu Nnewi, Anambra State, ensures that patients no longer have to endure the strain and expense of traveling far or abroad for quality care.
Inspired by this selfless act, I have committed to paying my tithe to this hospital. It’s my way of supporting the subsidy that ensures life-saving kidney treatments remain accessible not only to our people but to anyone in need.
This initiative by the Chidolues serves as a powerful reminder that charity begins at home. It’s a call to action for others to invest in their communities and find ways to solve our shared problems. Nnewi, once again, leads by example.
