The NDPC Commissioner spotlighted the recent signing of the Nigeria Data Protection Bill by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a landmark development for the nation. “The passage of this bill is not just a legal victory, but a strategic move aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the Nigerian economy,” Dr. Olatunji said. “The world is increasingly looking for secure environments to do business, and data protection is now at the heart of that conversation,” Dr. Olatunji continued. “With the new law in place, we are sending a strong message to the global tech and business community that Nigeria is ready and capable of safeguarding both financial investments and personal data.”
He went on to assure investors that Nigeria’s digital infrastructure has been bolstered to protect personal data, meeting the rigorous demands of international standards. “Our commitment to data privacy not only strengthens our economy but also builds confidence in our technological ecosystem.
