In alignment with the Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to enhance digital literacy and develop tech talent across Nigeria. This collaboration, known as the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) Initiative, aims to equip 30 million Nigerians, particularly the youth, with essential digital skills.
The DL4ALL Initiative seeks to empower individuals to access crucial digital services, engage in the digital economy, compete for jobs, and boost their employability. This effort supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on economic reform and sustained inclusive growth through digital literacy and tech talent cultivation.
The partnership was formalized during a courtesy visit to the NYSC Director-General at their Corporate Headquarters in Abuja. NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi CCIE, led the delegation, accompanied by his management team. During the visit, NYSC Director-General, Brig Gen Y.D. Ahmed, committed to establishing a Community Development Service (CDS) to bolster this initiative.
The Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, who facilitated the meeting, was also in attendance and expressed strong support for the collaboration’s objectives and success.
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is committed to implementing policies and programs that drive Nigeria’s IT development. Through strategic initiatives, NITDA aims to foster a digitally inclusive society and position Nigeria as a leading digital economy.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a scheme established by the Nigerian government to involve the country’s graduates in the development and integration of Nigeria. The NYSC facilitates youth empowerment and community development through various programs and initiatives.
