NNPC Chief, Mele Kyari, Honored with NUJ Good Governance Award

 

In a commendable acknowledgment of his dedication to transparency and good governance within NNPC Limited, Mr. Mele Kyari, the Group CEO, has been bestowed with the prestigious 2024 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Good Governance Award.

The accolade, presented during the NUJ’s Good Governance Awards Night & Dinner at Abuja’s Barcelona Hotels, highlights Kyari’s remarkable efforts in advancing accountability and integrity within NNPC Limited. Representing Kyari at the ceremony was the Chief Financial Officer of the Company, Mr. Umar Ajiya, who graciously accepted the award on his behalf.

DDoS Attacks at the World Economic Forum (WEF)

Between January 20 and 24, the town of Davos-Klosters, Switzerland hosted the annual World Economic Forum (WEF). Among the key highlights drawing media attention were several special addresses by prominent political figures. NETSCOUT’s ASERT team of engineers and researchers specialising in information security observed an increased volume of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks shortly before and during at least one of these addresses. This piece chronologically follows the events of the WEF while elaborating on events in the Swiss cyberspace.

NDPC Secures NJI’s Support for Data Privacy Right in Nigeria

In line with its objective of safeguarding the data privacy rights of Nigerians, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has secured the support of the National Judicial Institute (NJI).
