The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is charting new frontiers in its commitment to elevate Nigeria’s digital innovation ecosystem. This strategic initiative involves a collaborative partnership with the Digital Transformation Centre, Nigeria, and other key stakeholders, as showcased in the “Digital Policy Dialogue” event held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Lagos.

The core focus of the dialogue was to foster impactful collaboration among stakeholders within both the national and international digital innovation ecosystems. The event brought together thought leaders, experts, and key players to discuss and explore avenues for synergistic efforts.

Representing the Director General of NITDA, Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Dr. Aristotle Onumo, the Acting Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy, underscored the pivotal role of partnerships in advancing policy implementation, optimizing the performance of support organizations, and fortifying networks of service providers. Emphasizing the interconnected nature of these collaborations, Dr. Onumo highlighted their collective contribution to the availability of scalable digital solutions and competencies. Over $370 million secured in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction deals at Afreximbank’s Lagos workshop

During the recently held African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) (www.Afreximbank.com) Intra-African Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) workshop in Lagos participants formalised business deals totalling over US$370 million, a significant step towards empowering African contractors.

 

The deals, signed during the workshop held in Lagos on 28 October, included a US$300-million Global facility agreement to Hassan Allam of Egypt, a US$45-million term sheet to Pavifort Construction of Sierra Leone and a US$25-million term sheet to Afric Cement of Burkina Faso.

Organised to help address the significant gap in Africa’s infrastructure spending, currently standing at over $100 billion annually, which is traditionally awarded to non-African contractors, the workshop brought together key stakeholders to explore transformative solutions to empower African contractors to compete for and secure large-scale projects within the continent.

NNPC Ltd Secures 10-Year Gas Supply Agreement with Dangote Refinery

In a significant development for Nigeria’s industrial sector, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, through its subsidiary, NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), has successfully executed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE. The agreement, signed by Barr. Justin Ezeala, Managing Director of NGML, and Aliko Dangote, President/CEO of the Dangote Group, took place at Dangote’s Corporate Head Office in Falomo, Lagos State.

The 10-year deal will see NGML supply Dangote Refinery with 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D) of natural gas, which will serve both as power generation fuel and as feedstock for the refinery’s operations in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.
