She was the first African female CEO in the 13 African countries where Standard Chartered Bank maintains subsidiaries. She was also the first African female CEO at Standard Chartered Bank Zambia.
She holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Henley Management College in the UK, an Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (A.C.I.B) UK and she is a fellow of the Zambia Institute of Bankers.
Mizinga Melu has over 20 years’ experience in the Banking Industry. She is an industry expert who has been at the helm of top banking organizations having worked in 8 African countries and also led the global business in micro finance across Asia and Africa.
She is a multi-award winning business leader having won Best CEO Awards 15 times including 2023 Best CEO SADC Award, 2021 Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa, 2020 Banking CEO of the Year Zambia, 2020 Southern African Women in Leadership Trailblazers Award, 2019 Banking CEO of Year Zambia, 2017 Transformational Leadership Award and many other accolades.
Mizinga Melu is the Founder of When Females Lead, an organization that mentors the girl child and promotes vulnerable children.
She is also an award winning Author of Braving the Odds, a memior on Finance, Banking and Perseverance! The Book has done extremely well and is available in international book stores and online.
