The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) has sought for an improved and quality healthcare services from the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) providers to ILERA EKO Enrollees.
Addressing the Medical Directors of the General and Private Hospitals, and Medical Officers of Health (MOH) in Primary Healthcare Centres under the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) at STO Resource Centre, Alausa, the General Manager of Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA), Dr. Emmanuella Zamba said that the Agency has received feedbacks from the enrollees either commending the good services rendered by the providers or complaining about some issues concerning some hospitals.
Dr. Zamba said that both the Health Providers and Enrollees are critical to the sustainability of the Health Scheme.
“Now that we are increasing in number and utilisation, it is our responsibility to make sure that our Providers discharge their duties effectively and the Enrollees have value for their money”, she said.
The General Manager implored the Medical Directors and Medical Officers of Health to ensure that their staff are alive to their responsibilities and treat ILERA EKO Enrollees with utmost care and attention. She added that customers are key to the growth and development of any business, therefore the way customers are engaged is very important.
“It is the dream of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the State and to realise this, all hands must be on deck. The State Government will not relent in its efforts to provide the enabling environment for the sustainability of the Scheme”, Dr. Zamba said.
She stated that as a Centre of Excellence, much is expected from the LSHS Providers in order to ensure that the State Government attains its UHC policy.
Dr. Zamba further implored the Health Providers to continue to support and cooperate with the State Government so that, together, Lagos can set the pace in health insurance for other States in the country and Africa as a whole.
Presentations were made on various aspects of the Scheme by LASHMA Technical Heads – Dr. Olufemi Serrano (Operations), Mr. Olatunji Rotimi (Business Development and Marketing), Mrs. Adetoro Tayo-Adetoro (Monitoring and Evaluation), Mrs. Aramide Ojo (Finance) and Mr. Sefiu Oladejo (ICT).
